Description
Among the folk dances included in this recording we note:
The CUECA: a dance performed by unlinked couples, originating in the zone of Cuya, which includes the Argentine provinces San Juan, Mendoza, and San Luis with a range of influence that spreads into the district south of Cordoba, Catamarca, La Rioja and the north of the Pampas.
The ZAMBA: originating in the province of Tucuman, considered the National Dance.
The CARNAVALITO: a charming dance originating in the province of Jujuy between Argentina and the high plains of Bolivia.
The GALOPA: a dance from Paraguay and a favourite in the zone of Rio de la Plata.
The VIDALA: is generally sung by two voices and has no choreography.
