L'Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier's Tale) is better known as an orchestral suite but the complete score after Ramuz's play with narrator and several orchestral players is one of Stravinsky's masterpieces. ARTS is proud to offer the first digital recording of the complete edition, relying on the french actor Laurent Manzoni as narrator for all roles of the score. The ensemble New Music
Studium is conducted by Antonio Plotino and the same musicians play Stravinsky's Octet in a brilliant coupling that shows their outstanding qualities.
