A successful encounter of two great figures in the world of music:
Maag shared the stage of the Turin auditorium with the pianist Lazar Berman, for the performance of Liszt’s Concerto in E flat. The Russian pianist was at the pinnacle of his dazzling international career, crowned in those years by his recording of the Tchaikovsky and Liszt concertos, with Karajan and Giulini and the Berlin and Vienna orchestras respectively. This performance, too, brings out the virtuoso and musical talents of Berman, a pianist who, from his first recording in Russia of the Transcendental Studies, had proved himself capable of conjugating his superb instrumental power with a natural, convincing musical thought.
