Description
These two single CDs, offered in our series Authentic, include the only available complete recording of the Marcello sonatas op. 2. For such a performance we relied on the group Accademia Claudio Monteverdi, on original instruments, and coordinated from the cembalo by Hans Ludwig Hirsch. Op. 2 was the most famous of Marcello's works during the XVIIIth Century and it offers sonatas for
flute, for cello and for violin. It is a superb value at budget price.
