Description

Let yourself be enchanted by Bach's beautiful chamber music for flute, that is now released by ARTS MUSIC on Hybrid-SACD in multichannel surround sound. Mario Folena and the cembalo player Roberto Loreggian present these beautiful works on authentic instruments.

During his lifetime Johann Sebastian Bach took many opportunities to make himself familiar with the flute. Thanks to flute players like H. Freytag and J. G. Wuerdig he already discovered the potentials of this instrument in Köthen between 1717 and 1723. And during his visit in Dresden in 1717 he also had the opportunity to meet two most prominent flute players, that influenced his compositions: the French virtuoso Pierre Gabriel Buffardin and the personal flute teacher of Frederic II, Johann Joachim Quantz.

"sehr schön" - "very beautiful"

"Through Folenas excellent flute playing he immediately manages to make demands on the recording on hand... brilliant playing!"

American Record Guide (20.03.2008)

"Mario Folenas baroque flute playing is extraordinarily polished. Italian harpsichordist Roberto Loreggian ia an equal partner. Their tempos drive forward and dance, but never spin out of control.... This is an excellent reference for flutists..... the overall sound quality is superb"
