Description

Everybody knows Rossini's symphonies (ouvertures); they were so famous that
even a few years after their first performance in theatres all over Europe they
were transcribed for various ensembles. Vincenzo Gambaro and Friedrich Beer
arranged Rossini's symphonies for winds between 1820 and 1830 under
composer's approval. The new transcription of masterpieces such as Il Barbiere
di Siviglia, L'Italianain Algeri or Tancredi shows these symphonies in an even
more brilliant version, without losing any of Rossini's own typical peculiarity. The
performance is committed to the best italian soloists in a fresh and joyful CD.

- Highly appreciated repertoire
