First Solo Violinist of Accdemia Bizantina

Stefano Montanari is the first solo violinist and concert master of the Accademia Bizantina. Concurrently earning diplomas in the study of both violin and piano, Montanari received the highest scores and honours from the faculty of the musical institute "G. Verdi" of Ravenna. He then went on to obtain his diploma as a soloist from the Swiss-Italian conservatory in Lugano under the Maestro Carlo Chiarappa as well as the "Diploma di Alto Perfezionamento" for chamber music at the Musical Academy of Florence under the Maestro Pier Narciso Masi. Montanari works an intense concert schedule as both soloist and as second violinist to various chamber music ensembles and such important Italian orchestras as the "Pomeriggi musicali" of Milan, the "Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI", the "Orchestra Accademia Montis Regalis"of Mondovi, the "Orchestra Milano Classica", the "Orchestra Stabile" of Como and the "Orchestra del Teatro Regio" of Turin. Very active in the domain of ancient music, Montanari has collaborated with some of the most well known and celebrated musicians of this genre including Christoph Rousset, Alan Curtis, Giovanni Antonini, Alfredo Bernardini, Gaetano Nasillo, Temenusca Vessilinova and Ottavio Dantone. Further activities in this field include the direting of novice couirses in baroque violin at the conservatory G. Rossini in Pesaro.
