The specialized press unanimously acclaimed the first volume of the complete Schubert's Piano Trios performed by Trio Italiano. Editor's Choice in the Italian magazine "CD Classica", 5 stars in the French magazine "Diapason", and excellent reviews in Gramophone, Repertoire, Scherzo, German and Swiss Radio. It is finally available the volume 2 again recorded in the historic "Sala Mozart" in the centre of the Italian city of Bologna (a little concert hall whose name comes from the fact that here Mozart himself studied and played the (still existing) organ during his italian stay). Inside the Sala Mozart there is an old and fascinating Steinway grand-piano built in 1919 and the pianist of the Trio Italiano was really excited to record with this instrument that, besides some little technical problems, offered exactly that old-fashion sound required by the Trio. The second volume of the complete Schubert's music for piano trio contains Piano trio op.100 with the first ever recording of the extensive alternative version of the fourth movement, lasting for about 20 minutes!. Trio Italiano who just achieved a successfully tour in the UK, will plan further international tours during 2000. As well as Volume 1, this is an audiophile recording 24-bit / 96 kHz.
