Schubert: Schubert Ouvertüren

Franz Schubert's production for orchestra includes 9 (8) symphonies as well as some beautiful ouvertures which, although not very well-known, were composed in the most typical viennese style. We have some concert ouvertures and some ouvertures from operas or Singspiele, all represented in this most interesting CD. The performance itself is also interesting, showing Donato Renzetti's feeling for opera and the surprising sound of the best italian chamber orchestra, the ORT, Orchestra della Toscana, based in Florence, who also, we remind you, recorded Cherubini's Symphony and ouvertures (ARTS 47102-2).
